Studied physics at the University of Giessen with a specialization in surface physics. He completed his diploma thesis and subsequent dissertation in the field of electron spectroscopy. Before entering the field of intellectual property, He worked as a researcher for fusion energy research at the Max Planck Institute of Plasma Physics in Garching bei München as well as for a leading European technology company.

He joined Manitz Finsterwald Patentanwälte PartmbB in 2008 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2015.
